Roselee Guinness is an author who has released one book previously, ‘My Doodle is a Little Different’, to raise awareness of Rett syndrome. This has inspired Roselee to write her second book in the series to continue to show other people that those with Rett are no different to us and can continue to live their life like everybody else.
Doodle and her best friend go on their first adventure together, this time on a holiday. They encounter laughter, new friends, and a few accidents along the way.
The two best friends are trusted to go away for the very first time alone and no one knows quite what to expect.
200 miles away from home… 5 days, 4 nights, 3 massive suitcases, 2 teenagers and 1 wheelchair… What could possibly go wrong? Oh, and also, one credit card from Dad!
Although Doodle has Rett syndrome, it does not mean she cannot live a life like anyone else. She enjoys her holidays and having a laugh with her best friend just as much as anyone else, probably even more, and on this trip of a lifetime, she certainly does that!

The message of the book is to show young children with disabilities that they should be proud of who they are and that a disability doesn’t define anyone as a person. We all are disable, one way or the other. If everyone was to be the same, then the world would be a boring place.
Doodle and her best friend go on another adventure together, this time when they go swimming in the sea. They encounter many surprises during their trip to the sea, and some that take Rosie by complete surprise!
The two best friends go and spend the day at the beach to play in the sea, but it is a chance for Doodle to show Rosie two very big secrets.
‘As Doodle was swimming away from Rosie, Rosie noticed the strangest thing… Suddenly, the splashes of Doodles kicks turned into gentle, calm little movements and waves which were swaying peacefully behind her.’
